Thats something thats always struck me as odd. Why spaceship designers always put big windows in hulls when it structurally weakens the hull at that poit. Sorry not having a dig, just something that popped into my head looking at the larger vessel. Interesting ships, both of them. Keep up the fantastic work please :)

It's usually explained through some technobabble. Star Trek had its 'transparent aluminium', in Stargate all the ships had shields and presumedly fancy stuff that isn't glass to protect them.

In Babylon 5 the big ships generally didn't have any windows.

Plus windows are nice to look out of and something for the enemy to aim at.

Lovely work, especially being able to see in through the windows.
The lighting is also rather nice.

Well with sci-fi, windows help with giving things scale.

Thanks. :)

Not quite true. The B5 battle ships had very few windows, the civilian transports had more.

However the battle ship bridges where well inside the vessel even the Mimbari would use holographic tech to display the outside while maximizing the defenses of the bridge.

Very sweet. I wonder if they're in the nebulae to avoid possible detection by the Wraith? LOL.
